Cisco IP Telephony Accelerated Ver 8

CIPT_ACC_8 Course Description

Implementing Cisco Unified Communications IP Telephony Boot camp (CIPT BC) v8 prepares you for installing and configuring a Cisco Unified Communications Manager solution in a single site and multi site environment. This course focuses primarily on Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release v8, the call routing and signaling component for the Cisco Unified Communications solution as well as the new features introduced in UCMv8. It also includes H.323 and Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) gateway implementation, the use of a Cisco Unified Border Element, and configuration of Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST), plus different mobility features.

This course includes lab activities in which you will perform post-installation tasks, configure Cisco Unified Communications Manager and switches, implement Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) gateways, and build dial plans to place on-net and off-net phone calls. This includes excercises to build a multinational E164 normalized dialplan as used in large LDAP structures. You will also implement media resources, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), voice-mail integration, and numerous user telephone features. It also includes lab activities in which you will configure survivability for remote sites during WAN failure and implement solutions to reduce bandwidth requirements in the IP WAN. You will also enable call admission control (CAC) and automated alternate routing (AAR), a feature that allows rerouting of calls over the public switched telephone network (PSTN) in case of no available bandwidth. There are labs for implementing Cisco Unified Communications Manager Device Mobility, Cisco Unified Communications Manager Extension Mobility, Cisco Unified Mobility, and the Services Advertisement Framework (SAF), a new feature of UCM v8.
